GONGPATI is an alternative rock band from Jakarta formed in 2025, born out of life experiences that didn't always go smoothly. Each member came carrying stories of loss, life-direction changes, relationships, family, and voices that had been drowned out by routine.

Made up of five members with different life and musical backgrounds, GONGPATI was brought together by one shared thing: the will to keep making music in the middle of lives that had already gone in every direction.

They're no longer kids, but they haven't finished with idealism either. Between roles as fathers, workers, and everyday life, music becomes a space to return to things that are sometimes hard to explain any other way.

Gong

Gong symbolizes a beginning — the first sound that draws attention and marks the start of something important. Pati, in Javanese, means an ending, or death.

Pati

GONGPATI becomes a symbol of the journey of life itself: starting with a chime that wakes you up, and ending with the last sound before everything stops.

The name GONGPATI comes from two words: "gong" and "pati".

The name reflects their wish to speak up about what matters before it's too late — about family, loss, love, life, and themselves.
